Laura Koo Nicholas

Laura advises the leadership team on strategic and programmatic goals, ensuring alignment with Ripple Effect’s mission and vision. She originally joined the organization in 2019 to lead the content development process for its new Water Literacy Project. She draws on more than fifteen years of working at exhibition and interaction design agencies and at cultural nonprofits, as a producer, content manager, researcher, writer, and docent. She has developed more than thirty interpretive experiences for a wide range of organizations, including The Field Museum, Boston Public Library, Riverkeeper, Museum of Jewish Heritage, Voice of America, and the Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad Byway.
Laura earned a BA in art history from Yale and is a practicing letterpress printer and teacher. Originally from New York City, she now lives with her family in northern Connecticut, next to a nationally designated Wild & Scenic river.
